Halloween at the worm hole!
Halloween is near so I thought I would do the Baitrageous cartoons as "Halloween at the worm hole." I hope you understand them all and get a laugh. Most are new but a few are from earlier times. My favorites are the Executive and the Alien. Enjoy and have a great Halloween. Boo!
Lake Powell a Treasured Paradise!
No doubt about it, Lake Powell is a Treasured Paradise for boating, water skiing, fishing, exploring and nature seeing. I just had to paint a water color of this beautiful Lake. Lake Powell is located on the border of Arizona and Utah and is the 2nd largest manmade lake in the U.S. by volume. It took 13 years to fill this lake to its high water mark in 1980. Now that's a big lake! Just click on the painting to look around. While doing research, I discovered some fascinating

bay names called Gunsight and
Last Chance. Also, my favorite name, Cookie Jar Butte which looks like a huge
cookie jar formed out of rock. The scenery of this lake reminds me of the old
Roadrunner & Coyote Cartoon. The lake's back drop is a beautiful red rust
color with buttes and canyons. This lake is a prime fishing lake. Here's a few
lake records: Striped Bass 48 lbs, 2 oz, Large mouth Bass 10 lbs, 2 oz,
Smallmouth Bass 5 lbs, 1oz, 15 oz, Northern Pike 16 lbs, 7 oz, Brown Trout 17
lbs, and Rainbow Trout 16 lbs, 7 oz.

Ahhhhhhh Raccoon in the House!
What would you do if you had just woke from a night's sleep, rubbed yours eyes and spotted an animal tail around a corner inside your home?
Well for me, the first thing that entered into my mind was: Dang kids are playing a trick on me like the time they painted my toe nails purple while I was asleep in the lazy-boy. I didn't figure it out until the next morning when I had taken a shower and was putting on my socks. Imagine the shock of seeing 10 purple toes nails looking back at you and then thinking what the heck was I doing last night. But this time was different, it's a creature. I thought, what the heck is that and how did it get in the house? Dang, looks like a Raccoon and we don't have a pet Raccoon. I bet the wife has let it in thinking it was Creamy the cat, which is possible because her night vision is not what it used to be. Now what to do, throw shoes at it, call animal control, get the guns? Just call me Davy Crockett because I feel there's a new coonskin cap in the future and then to my surprise.......
As I turned the corner to get a better look this is what was looking back at me. Kibble our cat. I suppose the reason I was thinking Raccoon is because before I went to bed, I spotted this outside.
It's a Raccoon stealing cat food outside. Just call me crazy.

Wiley Fox Drops By.
My Critter Cam catches a Red Fox trotting by in the Tennessee woods about 10 days ago. As you can see the Fox is hiding behind the weeds in the middle of the picture below. He or she is not a very pretty Fox and is likely an older Fox. It almost looks like a pig in this picture. Click photo to take a better look.
Lucky for me, a minute later he stepped out of the weeds and Critter Cam got another photo. If you look closely, it appears the fox has had a rough life.
The wife and I had seen him around in the last few days and I was lucky to get a photo. We have an outside cat and I think he may have been attracted to the cat food. Here's a better look.

Blog Jam!!!!!!!!!
I haven't been able to post on the internet for two weeks because of hardware issues with Verizon. So frustrating!!!!
Do you know how to stay calm and cool during a period of frustration? Go to your happy place! For me it was to paint a happy place, the Keys. You know, everybody needs a happy place.
I'm finely back on, but now there's a Blog Jam. After 3 Samsung hotshot devices, hours on the phone, a 30 mile trip to the Verizon store, a new sims card and two weeks of no internet just to name a few things, it appears that it's working again. It took Verizon forever to determine that the problem was the sims card.
The good news is that I now have a BLOG JAM. Stay tuned for new Critter Cam photo's, trip reports, new Baitragous Cartoons and more.
If you need to go to a happy place just click on the map to sail around the Keys.
Enjoy thanks,

No internet because of VERIZON.
Here I sit at Dairy Queen having a Blizzard pondering my next move. You see, I haven't been able to post on the blog in over a week due Verizon issues. I have a wire-less device from Verizon and it just stopped working. After hours on the phone over a five day period and 2 new devices, still no internet. Now, Verizon thinks it's the tower near my house? It takes up to 5 days for them to check the tower out and of course day 5 is tomorrow. What are the odds that Verizon will fix the problem tomorrow? Not likely! Oh well, until then.

The First Paddle
The First Paddle - When the first human, “Ug” entered the water he probably figured out that he could float on logs to sneak up on prey, catch fish or just have fun. The obvious next step was to propel and maneuver the log. "Ug" picked up a stick and used it as a way to propel and guide the log. The other members of the tribe must have been awed by this brilliance. The stick became the choice in which the tribe traveled the water ways. Unknowing to "Ug", this was a major breakthrough in watercraft propulsion.
Sometime later, "Ug" began to understand that the shape of the stick made a big difference in how well the log could be guided and propelled. At this moment the paddle was born. The paddle could be used to go up stream and into deeper water. Ug was a hero and life was better, much better except when "Ug" was up a creek without his paddle. Check-out my vintage style lake, river and bay maps.

Reel Singing in Nashville!
I think of Old Hickory Lake located near Nashville, as the music lake. Why, you may ask? Because Old Hickory has been known as a home for Country Music Star's. In fact, Johnny Cash's home was located on the lake until it burned a few years ago.
I hope to hear the music of my reel singing because of a big fat bass on my hook. Me and Buttermilk my fishing buddy, fished a small cove on Old Hickory lake Saturday. The weather was perfect (66 degrees, partly cloudy and calm) which should make for a great day of fishing. Our plan was to paddle around the cove in our kayaks and catch a few Bass. We arrived at Rockland around 6:20 am. Below you can see Buttermilk giving it his all.
We were near the Old Hickory Lock and dam so I took this photo to give you an idea of the dam.
Unfortunately, fishing was difficult and I didn't catch a fish. I tried every lure in my tackle box but no luck. Buttermilk did happen to catch one little old bream after about 3-1/2 hours of fishing.
Since the fishing wasn't good, I decided to take a few pictures of the lake and wildlife.
I didn't hear any reel singing on this day, but a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. Hey, want a little bait humor, then check out my outrageous cartoons on the top tab. Hope you enjoyed. Hey checkout my Lake decor maps, Great gift for the lake lover www.LeoLakes.com
