Red Fox Video on the Patio!

I have been trying to get a video of a Wiley Old Fox that has been stealing cat food from around our house. I used a critter cam with motion detection and so far have a raccoon, a possum and a still photo of this Old Fox, but I wanted video. So this time I was determined. OK, I admit it. I baited the patio. I used Fox pee, Yep I said Fox pee and some bread to bring him near critter cam. I sprayed the pee all around and tossed out bread. Boy, that Fox pee is smelly. Over spray ended up on my sleeve and when I came back inside, I was attacked by the cat. Anyway, it worked. I am no Nat Geo, but I am the proud owner of  "Red Fox on The Patio" coming to theaters near you, not. I will show it to the wife and prove that it was a Red Fox stealing cat food. Look close and you can tell it's an Old Male Fox which is certainly mangy. Check it out and leave a comment, Thanks.

What's in your Woods?

I have a critter cam with a motion detector that I sit out in the woods at night to see what wanders pass. Recently, we have sighted a Red Fox and even captured a still photo of this critter. I'm not satisfied with a still photo, I want a video because the wife thinks it's more Coyote than Fox.
The other night I placed critter cam near the last sighting area in hopes of proving it's a Fox. Hopefully the video will show the critter, but you never know what's happening in the middle of woods during the night while you are all snug in your bed. The next day I was excited because critter cam indicated that a video had been taken. I quickly took it inside and placed the card in the laptop. Here's the video.
Hope you enjoyed! What's in your Woods, River, Lake or Bay?

Dang, Fly!!!

I have been drawing all the graphics in this blog with a mouse, which is like using a paint brush to write a letter. Now, I have purchased the proper drawing gear to hopefully make things look much better. In addition, I just purchased the domain name for BaitRageous.com which I currently have linked to Old field Studio which has my lake art. I am not sure where I am headed with all this, but I do have some plans. You know what they say-"Do what you love to do and you will never work a day in your life."  For me, other than the family, I love the outdoors, creativity, and drawing. So far I've been lucky and I can now test this theory. I will keep you posted. Here is my first BaitRageous cartoon using my new drawing gear. Hope you laugh!!!

My Five Fish Blogs!

What are five fish blogs? Well, they are kind of like five star hotel's, but better. These bloggers are one's that I find entertaining, interesting, informative, knowledgeable, down to earth, humorous and they are true outdoors men and women.

RAINBOW CHASER
A great blog that has some really good stories. Mel is from Idaho and is chasing them rainbows. My favorite story's include Fishing and Marriage Counseling, Why I Don't Fly Fish Anymore, Kamloops Rainbow with a Story and the Amazing Story of the Lost Rod. Mel's post of "The Fathers Day Trout" has a reader approved award from the Outdoor Blogger Network. Go check out his blog, it's five fish approved! Click right here http://www.rainbow-chaser.net/

BULLETS AND BISCUITS
A wonderful humorous blog that can best be described by her home page. A smidgen of southern sass, pinch of gun toting, hint of drunkenness, sprinklin of redneck, dash of white trash, scoop of hillbilly, tad of old school, drop of hunteress, and garnish w/ badass-ness. Combine all the ingredients and sit back and enjoy. Go check out her blog, it's too funny and five fish approved! Click right here http://bulletsandbiscuits.blogspot.com/

Pete's Paranormal Plug!

Here's a great new plug guaranteed to catch more fish, Pete's Paranormal Plug. Pete says this plug will increase your catch by 50-60% and here's why. Have you ever been on the lake or river and heard a big splash only to look out on to the water and see nothing, not even a ripple. That was a ghost fish! Now with Pete's Paranormal Plug you have a shot at catching that trophy. Just cast Pete's Paranormal Plug as you would your normal lure. If there's a paranormal fish present you will catch it, just hang on for an experience of a life time.
CAUTION: Don't forget to click on the Plug above and read the fine print. Here's a comment from one of our customers: Boy, I fished all day and didn't get a bite and then I put one of Pete's plugs on my line. WOW....WOW.....WOW, what a difference. I am still recovering!!!!! Pete says this plug will catch all types of paranormal fish, Bass, Rainbow, Brown, Catfish, Rockfish, and others. Guess what? Currently there's no limit on the number of paranormal fish you can catch however, we recommend that you practice catch and release because.......well you'll find out. You can only get Pete's Paranormal Plug here and it's on special......Buy one, get one for the same price. You gotta get one or two!

Here's a photo of Pete working hard on his next development.
Oh yeah, as you can see or better..... can't see, Pete is Paranormal. Remember: DON'T JUST FISH NORMAL, FISH PARANORMAL!

Halloween at the worm hole!

Halloween is near so I thought I would do the Baitrageous cartoons as "Halloween at the worm hole." I hope you understand them all and get a laugh. Most are new but a few are from earlier times. My favorites are the Executive and the Alien. Enjoy and have a great Halloween. Boo!

Lake Powell a Treasured Paradise!

No doubt about it, Lake Powell is a Treasured Paradise for boating, water skiing, fishing, exploring and nature seeing. I just had to paint a water color of this beautiful Lake. Lake Powell is located on the border of Arizona and Utah and is the 2nd largest manmade lake in the U.S. by volume. It took 13 years to fill this lake to its high water mark in 1980. Now that's a big lake! Just click on the painting to look around. While doing research, I discovered some fascinating

bay names called Gunsight and Last Chance. Also, my favorite name, Cookie Jar Butte which looks like a huge cookie jar formed out of rock. The scenery of this lake reminds me of the old Roadrunner & Coyote Cartoon. The lake's back drop is a beautiful red rust color with buttes and canyons. This lake is a prime fishing lake. Here's a few lake records: Striped Bass 48 lbs, 2 oz, Large mouth Bass 10 lbs, 2 oz, Smallmouth Bass 5 lbs, 1oz, 15 oz, Northern Pike 16 lbs, 7 oz, Brown Trout 17 lbs, and Rainbow Trout 16 lbs, 7 oz.

Life is short, get away from the big screen and get on a big stream, like Lake Powell. Find more decor maps at LeoLakes.com. They make Great Gifts.

Ahhhhhhh Raccoon in the House!

What would you do if you had just woke from a night's sleep, rubbed yours eyes and spotted an animal tail around a corner inside your home?
Well for me, the first thing that entered into my mind was: Dang kids are playing a trick on me like the time they painted my toe nails purple while I was asleep in the lazy-boy. I didn't figure it out until the next morning when I had taken a shower and was putting on my socks. Imagine the shock of seeing 10 purple toes nails looking back at you and then thinking what the heck was I doing last night.  But this time was different, it's a creature. I thought, what the heck is that and how did it get in the house? Dang, looks like a Raccoon and we don't have a pet Raccoon. I bet the wife has let it in thinking it was Creamy the cat, which is possible because her night vision is not what it used to be. Now what to do, throw shoes at it, call animal control, get the guns? Just call me Davy Crockett because I feel there's a new coonskin cap in the future and then to my surprise.......
As I turned the corner to get a better look this is what was looking back at me. Kibble our cat. I suppose the reason I was thinking Raccoon is because before I went to bed, I spotted this outside.
It's a Raccoon stealing cat food outside. Just call me crazy.
